The University now invites application for the Research Project “Exploring the Idea of Public Reason: Studying the Later Rawls’s philosophy by the archival approach”, funded by the Research Grants Council:

 

Research Assistant – Department of Social Science

Responsibilities
  • set up an electronic database of the scanned archival papers that facilitate the searching of concepts and arguments;
  • identify and obtain the required secondary materials such as journal articles, specialised books, and edited volume;
  • assist with editing the format of articles to ensure that they are ready for publication; and
  • transcribe the interview for the Principal Investigator during the summer visit.

 

 

Applicants Should
  • possess a bachelor degree in social science or other relevant disciplines;
  • be familiar with John Rawls’s political philosophy;
  • be familiar with Microsoft Office software, PDF formatting and other computer skills;
  • have a good command of written English and Chinese;
  • possess good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • be well-organised, a good team player and able to handle multiple tasks efficiently; and
  • have a passion for conducting academic research.
