Department of English – Professor / Associate Professor (Full-time)

Responsibilities

The Department seeks an outstanding applicant for the planning, development, coordination and delivery of various modules in English.  He/She will be expected to provide leadership in developing new undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in literature and culture, including drama, film and English media studies.  He/She will also assist in management and validation, engage in teaching, research, scholarly and administration activities, and perform any other duties as assigned.

 

 

Applicants Should
 
Applicants should have a PhD in English literature or comparative literature.  Applicants who specialise in English literature must have a global dimension in teaching and research, while applicants in comparative literature must demonstrate a focus in English.  International leadership and success in competitive research grant applications will be considered.  The appointee should be a dynamic and outstanding scholar with substantial teaching experience, a strong record of research and relevant administrative experience in an academic institution.
