Associate Registrar - Registry
(Ref: AR (REG) 2021-05-03)

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Registrar in leading and overseeing the effective planning and management of the Registry;
  • lead and manage the Registration & Academic Records Unit and the Academic Event Unit of the Registry to deliver services pertaining to student registration & records, class scheduling & module registration, examinations & assessments, graduation, certification and academic events;
  • ensure operations and practices of the Units are in line with the academic regulations and comply with the quality assurance requirements of the University;
  • initiate and plan for projects/tasks that can enhance student services, and to deploy manpower to deliver the projects/tasks in a timely manner;
  • ensure smooth operation of the Registry Counter to provide services to students, staff and visitors;
  • ensure operational guidelines and procedures are in place and updated for service delivery;
  • work closely with other units within the Registry and other academic and administrative units of the University to ensure smooth delivery of the services provided;
  • liaise with individual students with special/discretionary requests, and to make recommendations to the Registrar;
  • oversee the planning and implementation of various academic events of the University including the Convocation and Graduation Ceremony; and
  • serve as secretary to major committees.

 

 

Applicants Should
  • have good leadership and planning skills and strong administrative and organisational abilities;
  • be comfortable working in a collegial environment, and able to communicate and liaise with different stakeholders;
  • be able to work independently and collaboratively with other unit heads;
  • have a high level of computer literacy, preferably with knowledge in student records systems;
  • be able to interpret/analyse statistical information; and
  • have high proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua).

Applicants with less experience will be considered as Assistant Registrar.
