The University now invites application for the following position:

 

Academic Manager – School of Business
(Ref: AcadM (SBUS) 2019-11-22)

Responsibilities
  • assist the Dean of School in the strategic planning of the School;
  • monitor the progress of the School’s academic development;
  • serve as a key administrator in the School and provide a high level of administrative support to the strategic planning of the School;  
  • provide support in various accreditation and re-accreditation exercises (e.g. preparation of discipline review documents, application for PAA, programme accreditation documents for local and external accreditation agencies including but not limited to HKCAAVQ and AACSB, etc.), and the development of postgraduate programmes, etc.;
  • oversee the administration of academic programmes in the School and supervise junior administrative staff;
  • provide secretariat support to various committees of the School and follow up the resolutions made by the committees;
  • coordinate within the School and with other Schools / Departments / Offices, and work closely with other academic divisions and teams;
  • organise School-wide academic activities such as conferences, seminars, workshops, etc.; and
  • participate in the preparation of annual budgets, revisions of annual budgets and monitor the budget status throughout the fiscal year.

 

 

Applicants Should
  • possess a recognized degree in a relevant field, preferably with a Master’s degree;
  • possess solid administrative and supervisory experience, preferably in tertiary institutions;
  • have a high level of competency in committee work and writing reports; 
  • have excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (Putonghua and Cantonese);
  • have excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and
  • be well-organized, able to work under pressure and have multi-task capability.

Applicants with work experience in the tertiary education sector will be an advantage.
